03/29/2012 - (Day 34)
Today's Menu:
Breakfast: Protein Shake and coffee. I mixed my shake and coffee together to get the best of both worlds. It has seemed to work. No heartburn or reflux.
Snack: I had a handful of mixed fruit that I had previously frozen and some Greek yogurt with honey.
Lunch: Left over chicken from last night and some sweet potatoes fries.
Snack: Handful of Goldfish crackers
Dinner: Fish and Chips

03/28/2012 - (Day 33) Minimal Heartburn and Gas - No Reflux
Today's Menu:
Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee (I will not do this again, I have to eat a meal I've got heartburn..totally my fault)
Snack: Because of heartburn - 4 oz of cream of wheat w/ some brown sugar and a glass of water. (Heartburn gone)
Lunch: Small Baked Potato with butter and sour cream
Snack: Greek Yogurt
Dinner: 4 oz grilled chicken topped with Swiss cheese, bacon and avocado dipped in a Greek cucumber dill sauce and on the side a small handful of sweet potato fries. The chicken was super moist and the bacon was extra crispy. I removed the bacon and took very small bites and it worked - I had no trouble eating this meal. Take very small bites and chew, chew, chew.
Snack: Gold Fish crackers - they are the perfect size and chew up nice. I got the smores ones.




 02/24/2012-03/27/2012 - My diet "oh my lanta" this has been a difficult one.

Day 1 to Day 3 - my diet was that of clear liquids (chicken broth, fruit juices and jello), protein shakes and at least a liter of water. This was not the yummiest of days but it did the trick. I was not that hungry the first few day following my surgery. SAMPLE DAY: breakfast: protein shake, snack: jello and a cup of juice, lunch: chicken broth and juice, snack: jello and juice, dinner: protein shake and a snack at night of jello. I made sure I drank a liter of water a day.

Day 4 to Day 13 - my diet was that of full liquids (protein shakes, cream of wheat, apple sauce, yogurt, soup, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and butternut/acorn squash. I thought I was going to turn orange from all the squash I was eating. SAMPLE DAY: breakfast: a protein shake, snack: yogurt, lunch: cream of wheat with brown sugar, snack: the rest of my yogurt, dinner: soup, potato or squash, snack pudding or apple sauce ((I only ate/drank 4 oz at one sitting))

Day 14 to Day 21 -  I added some consistency to my diet (oatmeal and fish - not at the same time) I found that if I ate small bites I had no problem eating the fish or oatmeal. This made me feel a little better that I was eating real food. Plus I added Caffeine back into my diet yippee for my coffee. The one thing that I have noticed is the coffee upsets my stomach and increased my gas. But I <3 my coffee.... SAMPLE DAY: breakfast: oatmeal cooked to mush, snack: pudding or yogurt, lunch: crab cake, snack: yogurt or apple sauce, dinner: fish and/or small potato, snack: ice cream  ((I only ate 6 oz at one sitting))


Day 21 to Day 32 - I have added some soft meats and cheeses to my diet (chicken, hamburger, lunch meats and deli cheese slices) The secret for me has been dime size bites and lots of chewing. I chew my food till it is almost mush. SAMPLE MEAL: breakfast: omelet with ham and cheese, snack: yogurt or fruit, lunch: potato or left overs from the night before, snack: fruit smoothie, dinner: 4 oz of meat,  2 oz of pasta or potatoes, 2 oz of vegetables (chicken real moist and pounded down, mashed potatoes and green beans) ((I only eat about 8 oz at one sitting))

I tried steak - I don't recommend this yet. I was unable to chew the steak like I thought I could.  But everyone is different.
